Join the reader chat
A private space for us to converse and connect
Thank you all for being part of this reader community we’re building together.
Today I’m launching Chat exclusively for subscribers. Think of it as our ongoing group conversation about these stories as they unfold.
This is where you can share reactions to chapters, ask questions about the characters or plots, discuss theories, and connect with fellow readers. I’ll jump in regularly to answer questions, share behind-the-scenes insights about the writing process, and get your thoughts on what’s working (or not).
I’ve set up two threads to keep things organized:
Motte & Bailey - Reader Feedback & Questions
Blackstone - Reader Feedback & Questions
One reader has already sent me a great question about Bailey’s car, which I’ll be answering in Chat tonight—come join that conversation.
How to get started
Get the Substack app by clicking this link or the button below. New chat threads won’t be sent sent via email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens. You can also access chat on the web.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
Your feedback has already shaped these stories in meaningful ways (Bailey’s entire character arc changed because of beta reader input). Chat gives us a space to keep that conversation going week by week.
See you there!
Mark
